The Computing and Advanced Technologies Foundation of Extremadura (COMPUTAEX) was established in 2009 by the Regional Government of Extremadura as a non-profit foundation.
Established and registered in the Register of Foundations of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, it has its own legal personality and full capacity to act, and may therefore carry out all acts necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was created.
The Extremadura Supercomputing Center aims to promote, disseminate, and provide intensive computing and advanced communications services to the Extremadura research community, or to those companies or institutions that request it, thereby contributing to improving the competitiveness of researchers and companies through technological advancement and innovation.
